Nacionalista Candidates Mitra and Ople challenge COMELEC (May 2010)
In the 2010, elections were automated. There was a resolution for a parallel manual count but after this was junked, Ople and Mitra asks COMELEC to prove that automated tallying would have no problems. “Kung hindi mag-tally ang bilang, posibleng magkagulo, may sapat ba silang kakayahan na avert possible violence.” says Mitra. The two also "blamed the Comelec for failure to give equal opportunity to lesser known candidates by holding forums like the “Comelec Hour” in the past"
Mitra loses to JDV III in 'debate of Speakers' sons' (May 2010)
"Senatorial candidate Joey De Venecia III of Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP) edged out rival bet Ramon Mitra III of Nacionalista Party (NP) in a debate over how to best handle the Priority Development Assistance Fund, which has been tagged as a source of corruption for lawmakers."
