I will not prevent anything. Rule of law will be observed under my watch. If there is nothing to hide. Anyway, they are just investigating. It does not mean you are guilty or not. Why not? Wala namang mawawala. We could also gain some level of respect in neighboring countries and makita nila that we are certain about our rules, bakit hindi?

Bukod doon sa ICC (International Criminal Court), dapat talaga magkaroon ng imbestigasyon tayo, sarili natin.

You know, what a shame... crime against humanity. You know, the implication of that case is not only that something inhuman has happened in our country, it is also a condemnation of our justice system. That particular court doesn’t enter a country where they think the justice system is working. If they intervene in our country, it simply means that they do not trust our justice system, and that is very shameful in the world, to the world. Grabe talaga mangyayari sa atin. Yes, {there’s a basis for ICC to investigate} this is something that we must do. If I would be there {as president}, you know, we have to regain the trust of the world to us. We will allow the ICC to conduct its business, but we must do a parallel {investigation} in our country. We have to do something also about it. Fundamentally, if we want to regain the respect of the world, of other nations, there are things we have to do ourselves. As we repair our justice system, we have to show that maybe..maybe…a dramatic case such as this, we should try to handle also as well. We will not prevent the international court, but we will help them.

The answer is yes. Kasi dyan na tayo nagsimula — well kailangan ikonsulta ito sa ating foreign policy managers or ‘yong mga advisers. But ang initial reaction ko is yes, kasi ‘yan ang court para sa powerless.

If the crimes were committed noong member pa tayo ng ICC…nasasaklaw pa tayo ng investigation because the crimes were committed when we were still member of the ICC. So the least na ma-eexpect natin sa susunod na administration is to let the investigations na mangyari siya. 'Yung due course ng investigation should be unhampered.

Nire-respeto natin yung investigation ng ICC dahil myembro tayo dyan. Unang-una, hindi tayo tututol dyan dahil karapatan nila bilang myembro tayo ng international community dapat din nating igalang ang kanilang mga proseso.

Well they are investigating it and we will see what the results of those investigations are. They want us to help them bring accusations against our Filipino workers in government? Pambihira naman siguro 'yun, I don't think that's right.

ICC is not the court of first resort. But our courts work. May tendency kasi tayong tumitingin kaagad sa ibang tao. No, let's work out our own. Let's work it out here, locally.
