Why not? What is the difference entering into a contract with a German company developing our facility, this is just regular contracts that we can engage.... So if we can do it with other nations, then I think we can do it with China.

This is not an intent to renege on our treaties and agreements with our established allies, but an assertion that we are an independent and sovereign nation, now finding common ground with friendly neighbors with shared aspirations in the spirit of mutual respect, support & cooperation.

China’s encroachment on Philippine territory is the logical conclusion of Duterte’s pandering to China and his betrayal of the country...China is now more confident in ignoring the UNCLOS (United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea) and disrespect the territory and sovereignty of the Philippines...We need to be vigilant against China’s threats on our territory. Relying on US military intervention is not the solution. We will be caught between a conflict between two powerful countries who have their own agendas on the Philippines’ economy and territory.

Maybe a review of the country’s diplomatic relations is timely and called for. All the diplomatic protests that the SFA filed have been ignored as if nothing was filed at all. The continued incursions and bullying finally got his goat. The Senate must support him in this regard.
