Food Consultant and Food Plant Designer Charged with Tax Evasion

Bernardo was charged with Willful Attempt to Evade or Defeat Tax and Deliberate Failure to Supply Correct and Accurate Information in his Income Tax Returns (ITR) and Quarterly Value Added Tax Returns (QVATR) filed by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) for the taxable years 2012 and 2013, all in violation of Sections 254 and 255 of the National Internal Revenue Code of 1997, as amended (Tax Code).

The Bacolod Local Government Unit has ordered AVM Bernardo Engineering to vacate the city-owned slaughterhouse's premises and pay the monthly fee.

The demand letter was delivered by Rayfrando Diaz II, the head of the Bacolod City Legal Office (CLO), who stated that the AVM had breached Section 12 of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) regarding its obligation to pay the rental costs on or before the 15th day of each month. In his letter, Diaz claimed that AVM had frequently and deliberately failed to pay the agreed-upon leasing costs.
