PACC chief faces complaints over alleged lack of action against local officials linked to drugs, corruption

Dr. Chao-Tiao Yumol filed complaints of grave misconduct, gross neglect of duty, conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service, violation of Section 4 of Republic Act No. 6713 or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees, and violation of Section 3e of Republic Act No. 3019 or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act at the Office of the Ombudsman.However, Belgica dismissed the complaint in August, saying if Yumol indeed has evidence against the Furigays, he should simply file a case since the PACC has no jurisdiction on elected officials. Another complaint was filed against the same officials at the PACC, but was also dismissed for the same reason.

Belgica sued for graft over Duty Free probe

A group of Duty Free Philippines Corp. (DFPC) employees has filed a graft complaint against Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) official Greco Belgica in the Office of the Ombudsman, saying they were ?very frustrated and disappointed? about how he handled the probe on the irregularities within DFPC. The complainants said they first sought Belgica?s assistance in 2017. Despite Belgica?s promise that they would not be charged legal fees, the employees said they paid P1,000 for each page of the affidavit or a total of P130,000.

Belgica clarifies context behind controversial remark on P100K gift to gov?t workers

Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) Commissioner Greco Belgica on Wednesday pointed out that his comment on P100,000 being an ?insignificant gift? for government workers was twisted and taken out of context. In a statement on Tuesday, Belgica said his intention in making the remark was only meant to ?point out what the law provides and not to justify bribery or corruption.? Belgica?s controversial remark was made after President Rodrigo Duterte stated that police officers may accept gifts from private individuals if it is given out of gratitude for their job as law enforcers.

Belgica files disbarment case vs Ombudsman Morales

Belgica filed a disbarment case against Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales in 2017 for allegedly violating the lawyers? code when she dismissed all criminal and administrative complaints against former president Benigno ?Noynoy? Aquino III over the Disbursement Acceleration Program. The Supreme Court (SC) junked the complaint.
