His statements seemed to insinuate that some members of lower chamber were motivated by personal interests rather than pure advocacy in their push for the consolidated version of the 'Bayanihan to Recover as One' bill (Bayanihan 2).

Trillanes and Zubiri almost hit each other due to immigration scandal issues

Trillanes and Zubiri started out with a heated verbal argument over a pending investigation regarding a bribery scandal involving two former officials of the Bureau of Immigration. They nearly came to blows when Senator Antonio Trillanes IV accused Senators Migz Zubiri and Richard Gordon of attempting to whitewash the investigation.

Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri resigned from the Senate due to accusations of fraud in the 2007 elections

Koko Pimentel filed an election protest after Zubiri landed 12th in the senatorial elections in 2007. Zubiri filed a counter-protest and denied that he cheated in the 2007 senatorial race.
