These two groups condemn Gadon's remarks in response to a tweet by Nobel Peace Prize winner Maria Ressa. Gadon, in a video, verbally attacked Ressa after she tweeted about Marcos Jr.s' guilty verdict in a tax evasion case in 1995. Gadon's action, which included cursing and insulting Ressa, was deemed "despicable and reflective of the belligerent impunity" by FOCAP and a "barbaric behavior that tarnishes the legal profession" by Gabriela.

A support group of PLHIV (People Living with HIV) is considering legal action against Gadon for suggesting that Noynoy Aquino had HIV. In their statement, they said "the Red Whistle strongly condemns in unequivocal terms a statement made by Atty. Lorenzo 'Larry' Gadon, maliciously imputing that former President Benigno Simeon 'Noynoy' Aquino III had HIV, in violation of Republic Act 11166 or the Philippine HIV Policy Act."

The Supreme Court ordered the suspension of Larry Gadon following his viral video where he was hurling expletives towards journalist Maria Ressa. He is given 10 days to present his case for him not be disbarred. Ressa's camp thanks the SC for this move and says she will still file a disbarment case against Gadon.

"Madaling gamutin ang COVID. Dapat inumin lang gamot mula China." He was referring to LianHua, a drug used in China for COVID. In the country, it's registered as a traditional medicine. He also said, "para sa akin, kalabisan na sa akin eh, either naka-face shield ka o naka-face mask ka, hindi ako naniniwala sa DOH. Sa totoo lang, ang COVID [ay] curable. The decision is the result of a disbarment case filed against him by a dermatologist in 2009. The doctor wrote letters to complain about actions done by Gadon to which Gadon responded that her writing letters and her strategy of filing suits are "very stupid" as they could take up to 10 years. The SC decided that it is not right for Gadon to paint the Justice System in a bad light saying "Atty. Gadon's remarks about the slow justice system and insinuations that cases are won based on abundance of resources, tramp the integrity and dignity of the legal profession and the judicial system, and adversely reflect on his fitness to practice law."

What I have in mind is setting a qualification for the candidates. For example, for a congressman, you should at least be a lawyer. For a senator, you should at least be a lawyer.
