Complaint filed vs Legarda over illegal use of govt funds for Antique

The Filipino League of Advocates for Good Governance filled a complaint to Legarda stating that she was illegaly benefiting from gov't funds. Signed by Junnex Doronio director of FLAGG ?We find it very surprising that despite the fact that her intention to run in Antique was general knowledge, she parades and harps in the province that she funded innumerable projects in Antique, Legarda in her defense stated that "she allocated funds to provide financial assistance to Antique residents, and spearheaded several projects to preserve and promote the environment, tourism, and rich culture of the province."

Comelec allows Loren Legarda to run for Antique congresswoman

Petitioners Robin Rubinos and Exequiel Javier argued that Legarda "has no actual presence in Barangay Mag-aba," but the Comelec said they "failed to present competent proof to support" their contention. Comelec said Legarda "was able to establish that she is a resident of Barangay Mag-aba since January 1, 2018." Legarda's evidence included a lease contract involving her residence in Barangay Mag-aba, letters from barangay residents "welcoming her to the barangay," and "other exhibits" that indicate "her constant presence in the barangay."
