CHILDREN'S WELFARE

Caloocan City Mayor Oscar Malapitan received materials for early childhood care and development in partnership with Save the Children Organization. The Malapitan administration has packaged a program of education, health, nutrition, sanitation and protection for a child-friendly environment. The city manages 213 daycare centers, 147 in the first district and 66 in the second district with four lined up this year in Barangays 14, 185, 170 and 174.

URBAN FARMING

The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has partnered with Caloocan City government to develop a 4,419 square meters idle lot in Sunriser and Vista Verde Village, Barangay 167-Llano, Caloocan City into an urban vegetable farming site. Dubbed as “Buhay sa Gulay,” the project primarily aims to promote the importance of urban farming and empower urban dwellers to have an alternative source of income through production and selling of fresh vegetables.

CAMPAIGN AGAINST DRUG ABUSE

Recognizing the integral part of the youth in the society, the Local Government of Caloocan through the Caloocan Anti-Drug Abuse Office (CADAO) in partnership with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) gathered 160 youth leaders for the 3-day Youth Anti-Drug Advocates (YADA) Camp held at the Amparo Nature Park in Caloocan City.
